When did you start reenacting?
When did you become a member of Comites Feroces? I had my first contact with reenactment when I was about 5 years old. Back then I got my first outfit which was based on finds from the salt mines in Hallstatt. When I was 9, I got my first medieval outfit, which was a high medieval dress in pink and green.

In 2018 I got to know Comites Feroces because they were our neighbours in Eggenburg where I was with my old group. Over the years my focus in reenactment shifted and I changed my whole impression on a source based one. After our first encounter I was asked several times if I want to join them and in September 2023, I finally joined Comites, and I am so happy to be part of this group. When I first joined them I would have never imagined to be fighting in my first big battle in spring 2024 and that I would be owning a full suit of armour in 2025.
Why did you start reenacting? Back when I was still a child, I started this journey because my parents were and still are interested in history and handcrafts. Since my father did a lot of archery, he happened to be friends with Austria's leading textile archaeologist Karina Gröma. Getting to meet her allowed me to see high-quality reconstructions already as a child and I just never left the reenactment community. Though I made tours into several different time periods, from the iron age up to the early modern era, the late middle ages will always be my first choice and biggest love.

Also sewing and making my own costumes has been a big passion of mine since I learned sewing in school. Which made getting into reenactment even easier because I sew nearly all my pieces myself and I also do commissions every now and then.

A big thing reenactment gave me is contact to likeminded people all over the world and I love how social media makes it possible to connect and share this passion together. But the best part will always be going out with the group and sharing our passion with the visitors and likeminded people.
Main Area of Interest(s) My biggest interest lies in trying to recreate the many things about life in the early 15th century and get to experience them as close as possible even if that means that some things simply don’t work as one may think. Personally, my biggest goal is to make my impression as plausible as possible based on what I can find in sources that come from unearthed treasures as well as books.
Who/what do you portray? I try to portray a rather wealthy woman who is the owner of a big farm somewhere in eastern Austria between Vienna and Retz.
As a woman of that status, it allows me to also dive a bit into fancy stuff without going full noble mode.

As a woman of that status her duties would be looking after all the people working for her and selling the things that are produced on the farm on markets as well as being the person who has the keys for the whole household. That is why you will always see me wearing at least one key on my belt.

Wann hast du mit Reenactment angefangen? Wann bist du Comites Feroces beigetreten? Ich habe gleichzeitig mit meinem Beitritt zu Comites Feroces im Juli 2024 mit Reenactment begonnen.
Warum das frühe 15. Jahrhundert? Ich finde, viele Epochen des Mittelalters haben ihren eigenen Reiz, aber insbesondere das späte 14./frühe 15. Jahrhundert besticht, was die Kleidung betrifft, durch eine subtile Schönheit, die mir besonders gut gefällt. Sie ist detailliert genug, um weder zu schlicht noch zu bombastisch zu wirken.
Außerdem stand Europa zu dieser Zeit am Rande großer gesellschaftlicher Veränderungen, z.B. durch die aufkommenden Fortschritte in der Theologie und der bildenden Künste.
